Being in a foreign and sometimes strange country, not yet knowing the language well or local customs, we often felt alienated and excluded. We realized that we were not the only ones in this situation. Other students which came to Australia to study had much the same experiences and feelings. We created this website as we realized there was a lack of any useful information, let alone any help when it came to studying in Australia. The only other supposed sources of information or help were highly biased and for lack of a better word, outright uninformative. We decided something had to be done about this, things had to change.

In the beginning of 2007, a group of students both local and international, having drunk possibly one schooner too many, had a vision. Your first weeks in Australia will not have to be as difficult as it was for us. You will find it easier to get the accommodation you want. There will be no more let downs when starting/changing schools. You will never have to deal with dishonest employers. You won't have to give up the hobbies, sports or interests you had back at home, you will easily find people who share the same interests as you do! You will never have to feel alienated or lonely, knowing that there are others just like you!

With these ideas in mind, iStudent was born: A website for us! made by us! about us!

We are not an agency, a company or a government institution. We are students just like you.

Our mission is to give you a chance to improve your english by meeting and making friends with people of all different cultures. Make your life in Australia easier by helping you find accommodation, help you with your assignments and studies, help you find a job and to give you an opportunity to share your experiences and have your opinions heard.
